NDP MP Andrew Cash may be the only MP to have ever won a Juno Award. The 50 year old father of four, a well-known musician and fixture of Toronto's arts community, was elected MP for the downtown riding of Davenport in 2011.
Andrew grew up in a large family -- there were eight children -- and developed his passion for politics and music at a young age. Cash was drawn to bands such as The Clash, U2, and Billy Bragg as much for their music as their message that often reinforced his social gospel beliefs.
Cash successfully parlayed his musical talents into a career that lasted several decades. Cash is married to sculptor and visual artist Michelle Shook. Catherine Clark talks to Andrew Cash about his life Beyond Politics.
