Liberal MP Scott Simms was born and raised in the tiny community of Bishop's Falls, about a four-hour drive from St. John's, Newfoundland.
A graduate of Mount Allison University, Scott pursued studies in journalism at Loyalist College before enjoying a lengthy career as a weather forecaster on The Weather Network.
For 10 years Simms gave Canadians the weather whether it was warm and dry or cold and wet. In 2004, he decided to jump in the political ring. In his first attempt at federal politics, Simms won the seat of Bonavista-Gander-Grand Falls-Windsor defeating Progressive Conservative Rex Barnes.
Scott has been the MP ever since. Scott Simms gave Catherine Clark a tour of his riding and talked about his life Beyond Politics.
