NEWCOMERS MAKING LONG STRIDES
On The Bright Side joins Conservative MP Rodney Weston in his New Brunswick riding at annual Learn to Skate program hosted by the Saint John Multicultural and Newcomers Resource Centre. All in preparation for Canada’s winter, which for many in Weston’s riding, will be their first. Weston’s riding has experienced rapid growth through immigration.
SHANNEN’S DREAM
New Democrat MP Charlie Angus is carrying forward the dream of a young constituent from his northern Ontario riding. Angus has introduced a motion in the House of Commons seeking to improve education and school facilities for First Nations children across Canada. “Shannen’s Dream” is named for the late Shannen Koostachin.
