Brampton-Springdale
A race full of political drama is unfolding in the battle for the Ontario riding of Brampton-Springdale. It is a rematch between Conservative Parm Gill and Liberal Ruby Dhalla. In the last federal election, Dhalla beat Gill by less than 800 votes. More than a third of the residents are Canadians of South Asian descent, making it one of the ridings both parties are strongly courting in a bid for the much talked about ethnic vote. Manjit Grewal is running for the NDP, Mark Hoffberg for the Green Party, and Elizabeth Rowley for the Communist Party of Canada.
