Kitchener-Waterloo
It was one of the tightest races in the country back in 2008. Only 17 votes separated the two top vote-getters with Conservative Peter Braid having the upper hand over incumbent Andrew Telegdi of the Liberal Party. Now in 2011, the same two candidates find themselves in a rematch in the Ontario riding of Kitchener-Waterloo. Bill Brown, a 27 year old banker is hoping that voters will abandon their allegiance to the two main rivals and turn to the message of the NDP. Richard Walsh-Bowers, a former NDP candidate is running in this election as an independent and Cathy MacLellan is representing the Greens. It is also fitting that in the riding that is home to several high tech companies including the maker of Blackberry, RIM, has a candidate from the Pirate Party, Stephen Scott, in the race.
CPAC’s Gail Dugas has the story from Kitchener-Waterloo.
