Nanaimo-Cowichan
When NDP’s Jean Crowder won the riding of Nanaimo-Cowichan in 2004 she managed to take away a seat that had been held by the Canadian Alliance and before that the Reform Party for over 11 years. This time around the Conservatives have John Khoury, a councillor for the municipality of North Cowichan, as their candidate. Brian Fillmore is the Liberal candidate here and Anne-Marie Benoit is the Green Party’s representative. The Marxist-Leninist hopes rest on the shoulders of Jack East. For the Conservatives to win a majority in the House of Commons, taking back the riding of Nanaimo-Cowichan is a priority and will make it a riding to watch on election night.
CPAC’s Ed Watson has the story from Nanaimo-Cowichan.
