Outremont
Danielle Young reports on the race in the Montreal-area riding of Outremont, which is shaping up to be a fairly tough one.
The incumbent is the NDP’s Thomas Mulcair. To unseat him, the Liberals are banking on their star candidate, former Justice minister Martin Cauchon.
The Conservatives are represented by a newcomer on the federal political scene : Rodolphe Husny, a 28-year-old accountant and businessman who grew up in Outremont. Elyse Daoust is the Bloc Quebecois candidate, and the Greens have brought back François Pilon, better known as Mr. “Corde à Linge”, who was the party’s nominated candidate for the 2008 election.
