Quebecers will head to the polls on September 4, 2012.
This election campaign involves a three-way battle between the unpopular Liberal incumbent Jean Charest, who has governed the province for the last nice years; Pauline Marois’s Parti Québécois, which is leading in the polls and wants Quebec sovereignty; and a new party, Coalition Avenir Québec, whose founder, François Legault, a former PQ minister who has given up on sovereignty, wants to clean up the province’s finances and root out corruption.
