Conservative MP Brent Rathgeber returns to the committee to answer questions on his bill (C-461) that will amend access to information exemptions related to the CBC, as well as impose salary disclosure for Crown corporation employees and civil servants who make more than $188,000 annually.
Rathgeber addresses some of the concerns and issues raised in past meetings by other witnesses. Information Commissioner Suzanne Legault and representatives from the CBC and the Canadian Taxpayers Federation are among the individuals who have testified on the bill.
UPDATE: On June 5, the committee made major amendments to Bill C-461. Later that evening, Brent Rathgeber announced he had resigned from the Conservative caucus to sit as an Independent MP.
