In Committee From The House Of Commons

Citizenship and Immigration

Committee members continue their debate on the government's request for a 30-day extension to consider a Conservative private member's citizenship-stripping bill (C-425). Opposition members of the committee do not support the Conservatives' effort to include provisions to Devinder Shory's bill that would revoke the Canadian citizenship from dual nationals if they are convicted for a terrorist act, instead of an act of war against the Canadian Forces as the bill originally stated. The committee has been sitting since June 11.
