The committee begins studying the first budget implementation bill (C-60). Senior government officials briefed MPs on measures including adoption-related expenses, phasing out an additional deduction for credit unions over five years, and the government's controversial decision to remove preferential tariffs for 72 countries.

UPDATE: Bill C-60 received royal assent on June 26.
