Senators continue their review of Bill C-44, which would allow for work leave when a child is critically ill, dies, or disappears as the "probable result of a crime." Employment Insurance benefits would also be extended to those caring for a critically ill child.

Senators conduct clause-by-clause consideration for the bill during the second part of the meeting.
UPDATE: Bill C-44 received royal assent on December 14.
