Residents of the town of Lac-Mégantic gathered for a memorial service for the 47 residents who lost their lives July 6 after a train carrying crude oil crashed and exploded in the centre of the town. The service was held at the parish of St Agnes and was led by Monsignor Luc Cyr, the Archbishop of Sherbrooke, Quebec. Several dignitaries including Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Quebec premier Pauline Marois were in attendance.
