It’s opposition day in the House and Charles L. Caccia moves a motion condemning the government’s lack of protection, maintenance, and improvement of the environment; there are speeches by Suzanne Blais-Grenier (Minister of the Environment), Ian Waddell, George Baker, Bill Blaikie, John Turner (Leader of the Opposition), Don Mazankowski (Minister of Transport), Jacques Guilbault, Gary Gurbin (Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of the Environment), John Parry, and Douglas C. Frith.

Question Period is dominated by accusations of a conflict of interest involving Finance Minister Michael Wilson and related to the awarding of a government advertising contract. There are also a number of questions about the removal of peace camps on Parliament Hill.
