Question Period is dominated by inquiries for Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau concerning the National Energy Program. There are also questions about rising interest rates. Bill C-623 is introduced and given first reading. Members resume debate on Bill C-48, the Canada Oil and Gas Act; Tom Siddon, Aideen Nicholson, Harvie Andre, Roy MacLaren (Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources), and Howard Crosby speak. The House is called to the Senate chamber to witness the granting of royal assent to several bills.
