In Question Period, Justice Minister Ray Hnatyshyn answers questions about a proposed project to divert water from Lake Michigan; John McDermid (Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for International Trade) is asked about a proposal before the European Parliament concerning the labelling of Canadian furs; and Lee Clark (Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture) is asked about federal aid for victims of drought in Southwestern Ontario.
Transport Minister Benoît Bouchard makes a statement concerning the government’s proposed legislation to create an independent board of inquiry into transportation accidents; George Baker and Mr. Murphy respond.
The House completes the second reading of Bill C-132, an amendment to the Western Grain Stabilization Act; participating in the debate are Lee Clark, Maurice Foster, and Mr. Hovdebo.
