The House resumes consideration of the federal budget; participants in the debate include Sinclair Stevens, Lloyd Axworthy (Minister of Employment and Immigration), Nelson A. Riis, Judy Erola (Minister of State for Mines), Stan Schellenberger, Normand Lapointe, Bill Domm, Roy MacLaren (Parliamentary Secretary to Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources), Peter Elzinga, and Rod Murphy. Earlier amendments to the budget by Bob Rae and John C. Crosbie are voted on and lost.
