The House resumes debate on Bill C-79, a bill to enact the Financial Institutions Depositors Compensation Act; there are speeches by Alfonso Gagliano, Cyril Keeper, André Ouellet, John R. Neil Young introduces a private member’s motion calling for the declaration of Canada as a nuclear arms–free zone; Gerry Weiner (Parliamentary Secretary to the Secretary of State for External Affairs), Charles L. Caccia, and Marcel R. Tremblay participate in the debate.
