German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Prime Minister Stephen Harper meet in Ottawa to discuss trade, global security and the European debt crisis. A joint press conference was held following their meeting. This is Chancellor Angela Merkel's first official bilateral visit to Canada.
In Ottawa, Unions representing workers in Canadian prisons, at the borders, in the Justice department and in the RCMP held a news conference to discuss their concerns about federal cuts.
