Immigration Minister Jason Kenney announces Canada's commitment to resettle up to 1,500 Syrian refugees.

On July 10, voters in the provincial riding of Westside--Kelowna will elect an MLA and possibly give the premier of British Columbia a seat in the legislature. In last May's provincial election, Christy Clark's Liberals won power but Clark was unable to keep her seat in Vancouver--Point Grey. Ben Stewart, the Liberal incumbent in Westside--Kelowna, resigned his seat and forced the by-election. A total of eight candidates are vying to win this seat, including Carole Gordon from the NDP, Sean Upshaw of the B.C. Conservatives, and Clark. CPAC's Catherine Pope has the story from Kelowna.
