Commission of Inquiry into the Investigation of the Bombing of Air India Flight 182

Witness: Neil Eshleman

Neil Eshleman (a former member of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)) continues to testify under direct examination by Commission Counsel Mark J. Freiman. Mr. Freiman asks Mr. Eshleman about his knowledge of a so-called CSIS “community contact” named Tara Singh Hayer, an Indo-Canadian journalist and publisher who was shot in response to his articles opposing the Sikh separatist movement. Mr. Freiman also asks a variety of questions related to the cultivation and handling of sources by CSIS.
