Witnesses: Dave S. Hayer, Isabelle Martinez Hayer

The Commission hears testimony from Dave S. Hayer (Member of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia and son of Tara Singh Hayer, an Indo-Canadian journalist and publisher who was shot in response to his articles opposing the Sikh separatist movement). Commission Counsel Anil Kapoor conducts direct examination, asking Mr. Hayer about his father’s journalism, the attack on his father, and the impact of his father’s journalism on the Indo-Canadian and Sikh communities in Canada. Dave S. Hayer’s sister, Isabelle Martinez-Hayer, also responds to Mr. Kapoor’s questions.
