Commission of Inquiry into the Investigation of the Bombing of Air India Flight 182

Witness: Giuliano Zaccardelli

Commissioner John C. Major makes remarks on the procedure for receiving and responding to written closing arguments. Giuliano Zaccardelli (former Commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)) testifies under direct examination by Commission Counsel Mark J. Freiman. Mr. Freiman asks Mr. Zaccardelli about the relationship between the RCMP and the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) following the creation of CSIS in 1984. Mr. Zaccardelli discusses his many concerns about tensions between CSIS and the RCMP and refers to the findings of the top secret report by the Security Intelligence Review Committee (SIRC) entitled “CSIS Activities in regard to the Destruction of Air India Flight 182 on June 23, 1985.”
