PrimeTime Politics Weekend

Martin Stringer discusses the week's events in federal politics with his panel of MPs from different parties. At the top of the agenda: the calls from the opposition for the prime minister to fire International Cooperation mMnister Bev Oda.

And, Martin welcomes this week's journalists' panel: Susan Lunn, parliamentary reporter for CBC Radio, and Mark Kennedy, parliamentary bureau chief for Postmedia. They discuss:

Bev Oda:

* Did the minister mislead Parliament in her explanations concerning the de-funding of the Canadian international aid group KAIROS?
* Where does the issue stand now? Where's it headed?
* How is it all playing out, politically?

The Buzz about Polls:
This week, 3 polls from 3 different polling firms showed dramatic gains and double-digit leads for the Conservatives in public opinion.

* How should we regard these particular poll results?
* What kind of new election speculation and scenarios are they fuelling?

Also, Martin speaks with Kevin MacLeod, the Senate's Usher of the Black Rod and the Canadian Secretary to the Queen. MacLeod is Canada's point man for Buckingham Palace when it comes to organizing royal visits. They discuss this week's announcement that Prince William and Catherine Middleton will spend nine days visiting Canada in June and July, after their royal wedding.
