The Canadian Bar Association annual meeting
The Canadian Bar Association held its annual meeting in Calgary from August 12th to 14th. Speakers at this August 13th session, entitled "Winning in the Court of Public Opinion", were Lorne Waldman, who was senior counsel for Maher Arar during the Arar Inquiry, Justice John Gomery, who chaired the Commission of Inquiry into the Sponsorship Program, and Allan Fineblit, Chief Executive Officer of the Law Society of Manitoba.
