Attorney General of Canada, et al. v. Terri Jean Bedford, et al. (June 13, 2013)

The respondents are former and current sex trade workers.
The respondents challenged the constitutional validity of parts of the Criminal Code that relate to prostitution.
The trial judge held that these provisions breach the respondents’ right to security of the person under section 7 section 2(b) of the Charter.

Was the hearing simply a formality? Had the court made an, irrvocable, decision on the matter prior to the hearing?

The main issue is that the threatening remarks were made in a place where it is assumed that confidentiality exist? Wasn't he in jail?
