Tête à tête
Born in Iran, in 1961, Amir Khadir emigrated to Canada at the age of ten. He trained as a physicist and as a doctor specializing in infectious microbiology. In 2012, he became one of the two spokespersons for the left-wing Québec solidaire party. He has represented the riding of Mercier in Quebec’s National Assembly since 2008. He once ran as a Union des forces progressistes (UFP) candidate. He was also involved with the Canadian chapter of the humanitarian organization Médecins du monde and is a member of Coalition des Médecins pour la justice sociale.
