The Week with Mark Sutcliffe

This Sunday, Mark welcomes:

• Elizabeth Thompson, Senior Political Writer, iPolitics.ca
• Mark Kennedy, Parliamentary Bureau Chief, Postmedia News

Viewers are also invited to share their thoughts about the week’s political events:

SENATE CONTROVERSIES Senator Patrick Brazeau was removed from the Conservative caucus the same day he was arrested. He has been charged with assault and sexual assault. Meanwhile, Brazeau, Mike Duffy and Mac Harb are under fire for questionable living expense claims. Do all these issues raise more questions about the future of the Senate?

REVOKING CITIZENSHIP? The Immigration Minister proposed that dual nationals who commit an act of terror should be stripped of their Canadian citizenship. This followed news that a Canadian with dual citizenship is linked to a bombing in Bulgaria. Is revoking citizenship appropriate or is it a path to problems?

ANTI-CRIME AGENDA The Harper government announced it will toughen penalties for child predators. It plans to create a Victim's Bill of Rights. Meanwhile, it also announced it will tighten laws pertaining to the bribing of foreign officials. Are these measures overdue or should the government be focusing on other priorities?

PRAIRIE "PUSH POLL" Opposition anger over robocalls reignited as the government admitted it was behind phone calls seeking opinion about proposed changes to Saskatchewan riding boundaries. Were these fraudulent calls, as critics claim? Or is the government within its bounds, as the Prime Minister suggested?
