The committee referred the matter to the "proper authorities" for further investigation. They also restricted her future travel expenses to flights between Saskatchewan and Ottawa for Senate business. All other travel must be preapproved.

Liberal Senator George Furey, the committee's deputy chair, called it a "difficult time for the institution," though the controversy surrounding Wallin, Partick Brazeau, Mike Duffy, and Mac Harb would give senators an opportunity to better explain their role to the Canadian people.
