NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair is hosting his provincial party counterparts in Ottawa.
The group will hold meetings on federal-provincial relations, the economy and jobs, and energy and natural resources. Mulcair will also host a working dinner at Stornoway, the opposition leader's official residence.
Mulcair told reporters this afternoon that the plan was to share experiences and remind Canadians that the NDP has held power in five provinces and one territory.
Nova Scotia Premier Darrell Dexter said New Democrats have to demonstrate they're capable both of managing the economy and showing compassion.
Watch Mulcair and Dexter on Tuesday's PrimeTime Politics (5pm and 8pm ET / 2pm and 5pm PT)
