In the House - Thursday

Thu May 23 2013

►Bill C-52 is debated at report stage. The legislation is designed to ensure fairer rail freight service for shippers.

►Bill C-475 is debated at second reading. New Democrat MP Charmaine Borg introduced the legislation in hopes of better protecting personal online information. The federal privacy commissioner would have the power to issue compliance orders -- backed up by the threat of Federal Court fines. Stronger notification protocols for data breaches would also be introduced, according to Borg.
