Third-reading debate is expected on Bill C-43. The legislation limits the review of certain foreign nationals and permanent residents who are inadmissible to Canada "on such grounds as serious criminality."
MPs consider designating April 2 as an annual "Pope John Paul II Day" across Canada -- though not as a legal holiday. Conservative MP Wladyslaw Lizon sponsored the bill, which marks the date the pontiff died in 2005.
A vote is scheduled on yesterday's NDP motion calling for a reversal of Employmenjt Insurance changes.
