In the House - Wednesday

Wed Feb 6 2013

Third-reading debate is expected on Bill C-43. The legislation limits the review of certain foreign nationals and permanent residents who are inadmissible to Canada "on such grounds as serious criminality."

MPs consider designating April 2 as an annual "Pope John Paul II Day" across Canada -- though not as a legal holiday. Conservative MP Wladyslaw Lizon sponsored the bill, which marks the date the pontiff died in 2005.

A vote is scheduled on yesterday's NDP motion calling for a reversal of Employmenjt Insurance changes.

The parties also hold their weekly caucus meetings on Parliament Hill this morning.
