The government's new Supreme Court nominee for Quebec is expected to answer questions from MPs today.
Justice Richard Wagner, 55, who sits on the Quebec Court of Appeal, has been selected to replace the retired Justice Marie Deschamps. Wagner has agreed to sit before an ad hoc parliamentary committee.
Justice Wagner was appointed to the Superior Court of Quebec in 2004 before being named to the appeals court in 2011.
He's the son of Claude Wagner, a former provincial cabinet minister and runner-up to Joe Clark in the 1976 Progressive Conservative leadership race.
