English | Français The Federation of Canadian Municipalities held their fifth national conference on sustainable community development in Ottawa from February 14^th to 16^th. The 2008 Conference brought together municipal leaders, speakers and experts, and focused on the theme "Moving Innovation into Practice". Jack Layton, NDP Leader, addressed the conference on February 14^th, 2008. Layton served as a councillor for the city of Toronto for six terms and was President of the FCM in 2001.
