The Federation of Canadian Municipalities held their fifth national conference on sustainable community development in Ottawa from February 14^th to 16^th. The 2008 Conference brought together municipal leaders, speakers and experts, and focused on the theme "Moving Innovation into Practice". The opening ceremony was held on February 14^th, 2008 and featured a speech by the Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities.
