The
Tenth National Metropolis Conference was held in Halifax from April 3
rd to 6
th. The theme of this year's conference was "
Expanding the Debate: Multiple Perspectives on Immigration to Canada".
This sixth and final plenary session was held on Sunday,
April 6th, 2008. This panel examined whether or not residential concentration of newcomers is a barrier to social integration. Among the participants were
Dan Hiebert (University of British Columbia),
Jim Zamprelli (Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation) and
Myriam Bérubé (Carrefour de Ressources en Interculture).
