Professor Michael Byers spoke in Ottawa as part of the Breakfast on the Hill Lecture Series sponsored by the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences on October 5^th, 2006. Professor Byers holds the Canada Research Chair in Global Politics and International Law at the University of British Columbia. In his speech, Byers examined whether it is still in Canada's national interest to be in Afghanistan and also considered the likely consequences of a Canadian withdrawal.
