October 30th, 2008, in Ottawa, the
National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy (NRTEE) hosted a unique round table forum entitled "
Securing Canada’s Future in a Climate Changing World", which marks the organizations 20
th anniversary. Forum participants examined how climate change is expected to affect Canada’s environmental and economic security through the lenses of our ecosystems, our energy economy, and our Arctic environment.
In the opening session of the day long forum NTREE Chair,
Bob Page and President & CEO
David McLaughlin outlined what NTREE does and their hopes for the forum. In Round Table # 1 panellists
Mel Cappe,
David Chernushenko,
Preston Manning and others discussed how to secure Canada's Ecosystems.
