On February 17th, 2009, Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty announced a $500 million investment in the GO Regional Transit network in Toronto.

Also, environmental, defence and economic groups held press conferences in Ottawa to outline their hopes for this week's visit to Canada by U.S. President Barack Obama.

And in Denver Colorado, President Obama signed into effect his $787 billion economic stimulus package.
