So - let me get this straight. Macleans had a round table on how to fix democracy and not one woman or non-white person was available that day? It's not hard to figure out why it's broken. For SHAME Macleans!

Greenpeice activists don't climb smoke stacks in India or China the wolrds largest poluters of CO2. That's because in those counrties they'd shoot first. These are econmic terrorist not activists.Their selection of Alberta is economic terrorism.

The thing that strikes me the most is the lack of division between federal and local politics in Ottawa. Why are MPs involved in local matters? How can democracy be achieved when power is hoarded, and participation purposely limited?

I believe there are a huge glitch in Mr. Nanos polls, please double check your numbers, why are you promoting this As for Mr. L. Ian MacDonald his ship-wrecked commentary shows his political stripe, I want to remind him the maple leaf is red and not blue.

Every government in Canada has about 90 loopholes in its accountability and decision-making systems that allow for 30 dishonest, unethical, secretive, unrepresentative and wasteful activities.

RE: Voting Reform:
Ottawa City government, Council and City Staff are doing a very poor job for our city. Is there a better voting system or governing system for cities? Do boroughs help?

Any who do not understand how our democracy works think we should change it...including PM's attacks on The Senate. The Chinese "Mandate of Heaven" was determined by food and water management, not gambling. We need "An appropriate and compelling Vision."

CPAC is at the fringes of my radar, but coming across this broadcast was a blessing. Is democracy broken? Loved the debate. Big fan of John Ralston Saul, Andrew Coyne (despite being to his left) and Ed Broadbent (despite being to his right).

Seems everyone is united on electoral reform. Too bad a majority gov't in recent or distant history couldn't see fit to bring in legislation that reforms who we elect ! What a great topic for a few aligned parties to finally solve.

Many good points were made; it was great! Too bad I miss the live broadcast.
