In Conversation with Maclean's

Our Democracy is Broken: How do we fix it?

Join the conversation with Maclean's and CPAC representatives, as well as the country's most prominent political figures.

CPAC’s Peter Van Dusen moderates a head-to-head debate between Maclean’s Andrew Coyne and Paul Wells on the state of Canada’s democracy. Guest panelists will also join in the discussion, including former NDP leader Ed Broadbent, former prime minister's chief of staff Eddie Goldenberg, author John Ralston Saul and conservative commentator Rick Anderson. Representing the people’s perspective will be trusted pollster Nik Nanos who will weigh in with new numbers showing where Canadians stand on the issue.

This debate was fascinating! About time, and I am so grateful to Macleans and CPAc for taking the lead on this issue. Can't wait for the next one - just wish other news organizations (print & TV) would join in the discussion.

I wish Mr. Saul and Broadbent had talked about democratic reform rather than monopolizing time talking about their own crowd pleasing political rants.

I was so fortunate to have attended the event last evening. Kudos and bravos to Van Dusen, Coyne and Wells! What a gift! Encore! I would love to attend another such event (on a different political topic or an extension of the topic perhaps!). Thanks
