On November 9^th, 2009, in Ottawa, Prime Minister Stephen Harper attended a ceremony to commemorate the 20^th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Also, Governor General Michaelle Jean presented the country's first 46 Sacrifice Medals to members of the Canadian Forces and others working with them who have been killed or wounded in the line of duty. The Prime Minister also attended the ceremony and said a few words.
