In his inaugural speech to the CMA's General Council, on August 25th, Dr. Jeff Turnbull brought those problems into focus by describing what he witnesses daily, as chief of staff at The Ottawa Hospital, one of the largest teaching hospitals in Canada. This conference brought together more than 1,000 youth from across Quebec and around the world. The theme of this year's conference was "Guardians of Our Communities, from Local to Global." On August 23rd, former Governor of the Bank of Canada, David Dodge, gave a keynote address entitled "Guardians of Our Economies: the Fiscal and Economic Challenges Facing Governments". Saturday, September 11 at 5 AM ET / 2 AM PT L'Institut du Nouveau MondeFrom August 13 th to 15 th, 2010, in Montreal, the Institut du Nouveau Monde held its 7 th edition of their Summer School for youth. Monday, September 13 at 4:30 AM ET / 1:30 AM PT The Crown in Canada: Present Realities and Future OptionsOn June 9 th and 10 th, 2010, in Ottawa, The Institute of Intergovernmental Relations at Queen's University and the Canadian Study of Parliament Group organized a conference entitled " The Crown in Canada: Present Realities and Future Options". The lunch keynote on June 10th was given by Patrick Monahan (York University), who discussed the constitutional Role of the Governor General.
