The Canadian Medical Association held its 143^rd annual meeting from August 22^nd to 25^th, 2010, in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
The theme of this year’s conference was “Change that Works. Care that Lasts”. On August 24^th, outgoing CMA President Anne Doig delivered her valedictory address to the conference.

The theme of this year’s conference was “Change that Works. Care that Lasts”. In his inaugural speech to the CMA's General Council, on August 25^th, Dr. Jeff Turnbull brought those problems into focus by describing what he witnesses daily, as chief of staff at The Ottawa Hospital, one of the largest teaching hospitals in Canada.

L'Institut du Nouveau Monde
From August 13^th to 15^th, 2010, in Montreal, L'Institut du Nouveau Monde held its 7^th edition of their Summer School for youth. This conference brought together more than 1,000 youth from across Quebec and around the world. On August 14^th, 2010, Helene Buzzetti (political reporter for Le Devoir) delivered a speech on: "Federal Policy: G20 as an Example of a New Way of Operating?"

The Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC) held its 62^nd National Annual Conference in Ottawa, from August 22^nd to 25^th. The theme of this year's conference was "Guardians of Our Communities, from Local to Global." On August 23^rd, former Governor of the Bank of Canada, David Dodge, gave a keynote address entitled "Guardians of Our Economies: the Fiscal and Economic Challenges Facing Governments".

L'Institut du Nouveau Monde
From August 13^th to 15^th, 2010, in Montreal, the Institut du Nouveau Monde held its 7^th edition of their Summer School for youth. This conference brought together more than 1,000 youth from across Quebec and around the world. On August 13^th, Bloc Québécois Leader Gilles Duceppe discussed his 20 years of experience since first being elected as an MP.

On September 2^nd, 2010, in Ottawa, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Muhammad Yunus (founder, Grameen Bank) delivered a speech entitled: "Microcredit and social business for a poverty-free world."

The theme of this year's conference was "Guardians of Our Communities, from Local to Global." Assembly of First Nations National Chief Shawn Atleo delivered a keynote address on August 24^th.

The Crown in Canada: Present Realities and Future Options
On June 9^th and 10^th, 2010, in Ottawa, The Institute of Intergovernmental Relations at Queen's University and the Canadian Study of Parliament Group organized a conference entitled "The Crown in Canada:  Present Realities and Future Options".
The lunch keynote on June 10^th was given by Patrick Monahan (York University), who discussed the constitutional Role of the Governor General.
