The government has moved a time allocation motion for second-reading debate on the budget implementation bill, including Conservative amendments accusing the government of failing to "address inflation, provide tax relief for Canadians and take immediate action to increase housing supply and tax evasion."
MPs also debated a Bloc Québécois private member's bill to 1) subject federally regulated businesses in Quebec to the province's Charter of the French Language, and 2) require permanent residents in Quebec to have an "adequate knowledge" of French to obtain Canadian citizenship.
