2014 Byelection – Scarborough–Agincourt
CPAC's Heather Seaman examines the Toronto riding of Scarborough--Agincourt, where a byelection is being held to determine the successor to long-time Liberal MP Jim Karygiannis. First elected in 1988, Karygiannis resigned from the Commons this spring in order to pursue a seat on Toronto City Council. Arnold Chan, an executive with Xeneca Power and former political staffer at Queen's Park, is the Liberal candidate. Elizabeth Long, an immigration lawyer, is the candidate for the NDP. The Conservatives are pinning their hopes on Trevor Ellis, a businessman and former teacher. Shahbaz Mir is the Green candidate.
