PM Trudeau Announces $469 Million in Aid for Fish Harvesters – May 14, 2020
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addresses Canadians from outside his home in Ottawa about the federal government's response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. He announces the federal government is investing up to $469.4 million to support fish harvesters. The new measures include an industry-specific benefit, a grant program and changes to Employment Insurance (EI) rules. The prime minister also announces that some national parks and historic sites will partially reopen starting June 1.
