Alberta Investing $250 Million For School Maintenance – May 20, 2020
In Edmonton, Alberta Education Minister Adriana LaGrange announces that capital funding for the province's school divisions has been increased by $250 million to maintain and repair existing schools. The provincial government estimates that the funding will create 3,750 jobs during the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. The minister also provides an update on the school reopening plan for the 2020-21 year. Alberta Premier Jason Kenney announced on April 30 that schools would remain closed for the remainder of the academic year. (no interpretation)
