Quebec Announces $70M to Support Sports Organizatons Affected by COVID-19
Isabelle Charest, Quebec’s junior minister of education and minister responsible for sports and leisure, holds a news conference in Montreal to announce financial support to sports federations and organizations affected by the public-health measures put in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She outlines a $70-million package to help these organizations during the crisis.Out of that amount, $12 million is dedicated to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, which will see its twelve teams that are based in Quebec each receive $1 million.
