In Fredericton, Dr. Jennifer Russell, New Brunswick’s chief medical officer of health, Blaine Higgs, the premier of New Brunswick, and Dominic Cardy, the provincial minister of education and early childhood development, provide an update on the province’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic.
The province is reporting six new cases, with one confirmed case at the Manoir de la Sagesse special-care home in Campbellton. Health authorities are declaring the case at the home an outbreak. A fourth school in the Campbellton region has also confirmed a positive case of COVID-19. The Campbellton and Moncton regions were moved back to the orange level under New Brunswick’s COVID-19 alert system on October 9, while the rest of the province remained at the lower yellow level.
