COVID-19: Canada Responds
COVID-19: N.L. Remains in Atlantic Bubble Amid N.B. Outbreaks – October 14, 2020
In St. John’s, Dr. Janice Fitzgerald, Newfoundland and Labrador’s chief medical officer of health, and John Haggie, provincial minister of health, provide an update on the province’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. The province is reporting no new cases. Dr. Janice Fitzgerald says the province is closely monitoring the two current outbreaks in New Brunswick and that there is no evidence to support Newfoundland and Labrador leaving the Atlantic bubble. There are no plans to close the border to N.B. residents, but that will be reconsidered if there is extensive community spread in that province. A decision will also be made in the coming weeks about non-essential travel to N.L. during the Christmas holidays. (October 14, 2020) (no interpretation)
